Google Cloud

Data platforms, analytics, and ML infrastructure.

What it is

Google Cloud is the third-largest cloud, technically respected particularly for its data platform (BigQuery) and its original roots in Kubernetes (GKE). Narrower than AWS or Azure in breadth, but wins decisively on a few axes.

Why we reach for it
  • BigQuery is genuinely excellent for analytics - it changes what a small team can do with a lot of data.
  • Vertex AI and the Gemini model family for AI workloads, including strong video and multimodal handling.
  • GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) remains a reference-quality Kubernetes experience - unsurprising, since Google invented it.
  • Good Terraform support, good observability integrations, clean IAM model.
When we don’t
  • -When you need deep regional coverage in MENA - AWS and Azure have more UAE-local presence.
  • -When the workload is generic web CRUD - the competitive advantage of GCP shows up on data and ML, not plain web apps.
  • -When your team lacks GCP experience - the cost of adopting a third cloud is almost never justified by the workload alone.
