Next.js

Our default React framework.

What it is

Next.js is a React framework by Vercel. It handles the hard parts of production React - routing, server rendering, streaming, data fetching - so the team spends its time on product, not plumbing.

Why we reach for it
  • Server components and partial prerendering ship genuinely fast, genuinely SEO-friendly React.
  • Great defaults - image optimisation, font loading, metadata - that would be a week of work elsewhere.
  • Excellent developer experience and a large hireable ecosystem, so your team can keep shipping after we leave.
  • Tight integration with Vercel (our common deployment target) but fine to self-host on AWS, GCP, or anywhere with Node.js.
When we don’t
  • -For content-only marketing sites with no interactive state - Astro or a static site generator ships smaller.
  • -For native mobile - Next.js is for the web. Mobile needs React Native or native Swift/Kotlin.
